These SMS Terms and Conditions govern the text-messaging program operated by School Transit LLC (“School Transit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By providing your mobile number and opting in, you agree to these terms.
Our messaging program is powered by Twilio and operates in accordance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, and U.S. mobile-carrier requirements.
1 Program description
When you opt in, School Transit may send you SMS text messages related to our student transportation service, including:
- Trip confirmations and scheduling details.
- Pickup and drop-off notifications and real-time trip status.
- Schedule, route, or driver changes, and delay or cancellation alerts.
- Dispatch coordination and operational updates.
- Account, service, and customer-support messages.
These are service and operational messages tied to the transportation you or your school/agency arrange with us.
2 Opt-in & consent
By providing your mobile number and opting in — through our website, an enrollment or contact form, in writing, or by texting us — you consent to receive recurring SMS text messages from School Transit at the number you provided, which may be sent using automated technology.
Consent is not a condition of purchase or of receiving our transportation services. By opting in, you confirm that you are the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number provided.
A sample opt-in message: “I agree to receive recurring text messages from School Transit LLC about my student’s transportation at the number provided. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.”
3 Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your trip activity and account needs. You may receive messages on days when transportation is scheduled and when there are updates relevant to you.
4 Message & data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Any charges are billed by and payable to your mobile service provider under your plan. School Transit does not charge for the text messages themselves. Contact your carrier for details about your messaging and data plan.
5 STOP & HELP keywords
Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation, after which we will stop sending SMS messages to that number. You can rejoin anytime by opting in again.
Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at 816-477-1375 or contact@schooltransit.com.
You may also opt out by contacting us directly using the details in Section 10.
6 Carriers & delivery
Our messaging service is supported by major U.S. mobile carriers, but delivery is not guaranteed on all carriers or in all areas. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on factors outside our control, including your carrier, device, and signal.
7 Privacy
Your information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. No mobile information — including your phone number, SMS opt-in, and consent — will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. We use your number only to send the messages described in these terms.
8 Eligibility
To opt in to our SMS program you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your state) and the account holder or an authorized user of the mobile number you provide. Our messaging program is intended for parents, guardians, school staff, dispatchers, and drivers.
9 Changes to these terms
We may update these SMS Terms and Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Your continued participation in the SMS program after an update means you accept the revised terms.
